In loving memory of Bandit, our baby giant. April 19th, 2004 to January 21st, 2013.
I would like to thank you and Todd for your kind words and the follow-up call I received. It is so nice to know I am understood and supported. Thank you for the kindness, patience and professionalism you showed my mother and me. You connected very well with Bandit and helped to calm his nerves. You helped make one of the most painful days of my life bearable.
Thank you, Dr. Forslund, for your professionalism and admirable capacity to love. Vanessa Garcia Whittier

Nikki came to us unexpectedly, like falling stars and four leaf clovers. She was as fiercely independent as she was affectionate and loving. She was our companion, our cuddle bug, and our protector and she brought joy to our family everyday.
Dr. Forslund, thank you again and again and again. We will be forever grateful to you for helping us give Nikki a peaceful and dignified departure. Your expertise and your calm and gentle demeanor made the most difficult decision and process more bearable. When Nikki wagged her tail and kissed you, we knew we'd made the right decision.
Nikki, a hundred years would not have been enough and we will always love you and miss you everyday.

Madison was our beloved Yellow Labrador, our child before we had kids, and our amazing companion for almost 12 years. She and her littermate sister, Hana, and fellow pet cat, Rascal, brought so much joy to our house. Madison was happiest barreling into the waves at the beach and fetching whatever sticks she could find. She could read our emotions like a book, and provided us with unconditional love. She was an intense personality and hated going to the vet. Dr. Forslund was very sensitive to our needs and allowed us to say goodbye to our sweet puppy in the comfort of our own home. Her sister, and companion kitty were able to say goodbye. This meant more than the world to us. It was our final gift to a dog who gave us more love than could ever be reciprocated. She finally had peace, and we now have peace knowing we did absolutely everything possible to make her happy. Thank you again for helping us and sharing your knowledge, comfort, and support. Our beautiful and beloved cat, Daffodil, passed away this fall. We are heartbroken and devastated to lose this amazing, funny, loving, faithful, handsome-as-all-getout angel. We were blessed to have him in our lives for 15 years. We know he is playing all sorts of silly games with the angels now, and we wish them luck because he always wins. Your kind words and the sweetness with which you treated both us and Daffodil was so appreciated. And receiving Daffodil's ashes was made just a bit easier by the way the ashes were presented to us. The box is so beautiful and the paw print was deeply meaningful. I am also very grateful that you called soon after to offer the help of a grief counselor. Just the fact that you took the time to do that was comforting. Again, thank you so much for your help, support and kindness. Emily Biggins, Manhattan Beach

Dear Dr. Forslund, I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and support. And your calling yesterday just to check in meant so much to me. Nobody does that these days. Nobody! I really appreciate it. I miss my boy terribly but have made peace with the situation. Though I do still look in familiar places for Udo and walk the yard often just to remember, and will probably continue to do so for some time. I know it was the right thing and am at peace with it. Thank you for reaching out and for the follow up. You have been so kind sharing your care and time. It is very much appreciated and has certainly meant the world to me. You have made the unbearable, bearable. Christian Martin Pacific Palisades

Dear Dr Forslund, Thank you so much for the care and support you provided for Hana. I miss her so much, but also am relieved that she no longer has to suffer. Thank you again for your care and compassion. You were of such great assistance to our family during this profoundly difficult time. While we are struggling with the sadness that accompanies the loss of our little girl, those feelings are countered by the wonderful memories that Hana has given us. Thank you again for everything. Dear Dr. Forslund, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving Ozzie (and his parents) such a compassionate farewell. Yesterday was probably the most difficult day of my life. I have had many pets pass away over the years, but never before have I had to make the decision myself. I was hoping that Ozzie would spare me that decision also, but I just couldn't bear to see him suffer any longer. You could not have been more caring. Ozzie was such a great dog. I miss him so much. Thank you so much, you are a very special person. love, Donna Allen Newport Beach

Jill was my 1st dog, but not my first shelter rescue. Jill was such a gentle, soulful pet and friend for 7 yrs. She was a fast learner and very willing to please. She taught us love, patience, forgiveness, and loyalty. Dr. Annie was a referral from my neighbor. I would not have to go through what so many owners struggle with: the "last" trip to the "scary" vet...having our last memories together in a scary place. Dr. Annie was immediately compassionate on the phone and extremely knowledgeable about animal conditions, so I felt both an emotional comfort with her as well as trusting confidence. At our home, she sat and introduced herself to Jill, who melted under her petting and soothing voice. As hard as it was on us, it was amazingly easy on Jill. Dr. Annie is "present", and not just before, and during, but after, with a compassionate ear and referrals if needed for the family. Rest in Peace, Jill. We feel you around us, and some day, we will hug you and run with you again! Angela D. Hollen, Ray, Amber Cypress

We miss our Venus so much. Venus had a great life during her nine (9) years with us and we are very grateful. Venus was a happy go lucky girl with a great disposition and was very obedient in a Basset kind of way. We recognized that Venus was losing her battle against the disease when she stopped looking forward to her meals and her energy level declined. It was a difficult timing decision but we had to call Dr. Forslund and what a blessing! When Dr. Forslund rang our door bell, Venus barked and greeted her with enthusiasm and I do believe she knew that Dr. Forslund was here to help. Dr. Forslund’s caring and soothing demeanor made the entire process easier. I remember asking Venus to lie down next to me and she came to her blanket and put her head down on my arm as I lay down with her. It gives Robin and I great comfort to know that Venus had the best life possible with us and that her final days and moments was an easy transition to doggie heaven for her and in the comfort of her own home. We miss Venus. Thank you Dr. Forslund! Your support during the process and follow-up with us has been a foundation for our bereavement process. Mike Kaminaka Mission Viejo
