Our baby, Shadow, lived his 17 years of life to the fullest. From the moment we got him at 3 weeks to his final days, Shadow has provided us with joy, laughter, comfort and security, but above all else, he gave us the gift of unconditional Love & Loyalty. We are so grateful to Dr. Forslund for her gentleness and compassion because Shadow deserved nothing less. Our Shadow Bear was born a dog, lived as a life-long companion, passed away as a hero, and remembered as family. Mommy, Daddy and Baby Sister love and miss you so much.

Kahlua came into my life on April 7, 1995. She had been abandoned and I gladly took her in. She was the perfect pet in every way from the moment she was brought to me. What a relief it was to see Kahlua resting and completely comfortable at home. She was not at all scared and drifted peacefully to sleep while I petted her. She knew I was with her until the end. I felt this was the kindest thing I could do for her: letting her go to her final rest peacefully in the comfort of her home with my loving hands petting her. What a relief to have no regrets about this. Kahlua you will always be with me in my heart…………….

Tia joined our family when our sons were in middle and high school – long past the time when THEY wanted to sit on my lap or “help Daddy” as he puttered in the garage. She made herself at home on any lap available and dispensed kisses with abandon. We were devastated to lose her to cancer at age 10, but enormously comforted that you made it possible for the end of her life to be so peaceful and loving. Thank you for your empathy, kindness and compassion to us as well as to Tia. Annie Gerard Newport Beach

Dear Dr. Forslund, Thank you so very much for the courageous service you provide. Being a vet is hard enough, but going to someone’s home and helping a family get through something like this is beyond brave, and I commend you for it. Again, our deepest thanks…

Dear Dr Forslund Thank you so much for calling me the next day about Ripley. I think you are one of the most sensitive vet's I have ever come across. "When Ripley was 4 months old, she found a loose board on the back fence. The fence backed up to a slope, a culvert that ran along the back of our neighborhood culdesac and she made her way to freedom. Max who was 7 and had never run away before, followed her. Christie posted this picture on every tree and lamppost in the Nohl Ranch area and two days later a woman called who had found Max with a little blonde lab that would not come to her, so we got Max back. Two days after that Ripley came back through the loose board in the fence. She'd tracked herself back home. That won't happen this time though...we love you, Ripley." I will recommend your loving service to everyone I know who is in this circumstance.

Dear Dr. Forslund, I am writing you on behalf of our family to thank you for being with us during a very painful time. Your kind presence was such a blessing to us and we know that Guido did not suffer but rather was released from this world in a calm and loving way, the same way he led his life. The tears keep coming but we are comforted in the fact that we let him go under your care. Thank you for being with our family. Sara Irving Huntington Beach

Dear Dr. Annie, I especially liked this picture of T-baby ( it was taken in Yosemite July 2011) in the natural environment she loved the best. Thank-you so much for your kindness and caring throughout all our recent hardships. Love

Bear Bear would have been 14 in June. He had a wonderful life. He loved sleeping on the bed, licking your legs dry after a shower, chasing the gulls on the beach, sneaking away with Peanut for a run on the beach, sleeping and looking for your scraps. On that day, you arrived with a demeanor of kindness and calm. You granted us so much patience and calm. I never felt rushed with you. You sat at the end of the bed and were just there. When I decided it was time, there were a few tears but I knew it was time. Bear Bear also knew. My husband was there and Bear Bear acknowledged him and then said good bye. I held my hand over his heart with my eyes looking at him and said good bye. He was so a peace, as was I. I have to say, the entire process left me feeling calm; it was such a beautiful experience. The follow up calls were so personal and real, just a genuine kindness and caring that I and my family were alright. This is a very special time for you and your pet, do it right, achieve a peace of mind that is never questioned. Colleen Bunch Newport Beach

I truly feel that nothing could have compared with the compassion I felt in meeting Dr Annie. From the first time meeting with her on the phone,I have never felt such compassion for another person when going through the loss of your pet. We had little Pepper for 17 yrs, she was definitely a very sweet member of our family that we will always miss. She was in her favorite spot, outside where she loves to be in the sun amongst the garden and birds singing when Dr Annie helped us at the end of her full life with us. We feel so blessed to know you, and for your gift to others of your loving and caring self. Thank you!

Athena was our family protector for 14 years. There are so many wonderful memories we have of her since she was a puppy. We miss her every day, but know that she is in a better place. In hindsight we made the right choice. I could not have asked for this to go any better. Once the call was made, Dr Forslund handled everything. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you for everything.
